Jesus said, "Follow me and I will make you fishers of men" (Matthew 4:19). When Christians talk about "fishing for men" or evangelism, sometimes it creates a level of uncertainty and even anxiety to those who have never come near the lake, much less the boat. Their "fishing gear" is neatly tucked away in storage and the joy of "fishing" is left to someone else.

Both believers and unbelievers have their own apprehensions about the subject of witnessing. As a believer, you may feel it is easier to back away rather than create an uncomfortable situation for an unbeliever. However, Jesus has called and commanded us to be His witnesses.

My intent in Everyday Evangelism is not only to provide training for evangelism, but to encourage you with a fresh vision and passion for witnessing some way, every day. Based on the fast-paced gospel of Mark, you'll discover ways to be specific and intentional about your witness within the scope of your daily contacts as God provides opportunity. And as you "cast the net," you will know the joy of seeing Jesus draw your neighbors, family, friends, co-workers, and even the most resistant to Himself! —David H. McKinley
